ܟܠ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܝܠܝܕ ܘܟܠ ܕܡܚܒ ܠܝܠܘܕܐ ܡܚܒ ܐܦ ܠܗܘ ܕܐܬܝܠܕ ܡܢܗ
mnh d'thyld lhw 'p mkhb lylwd' dmkhb wkl ylyd 'lh' mn mshykh' 'ythwhy dyshwe dmhymn kl
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.

ܘܒܗܕܐ ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܕܡܚܒܝܢܢ ܠܒܢܘܗܝ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܐ ܕܠܐܠܗܐ ܡܚܒܝܢܢ ܘܥܒܕܝܢܢ ܦܘܩܕܢܘܗܝ
pwqdnwhy webdynn mkhbynn dl'lh' m' d'lh' lbnwhy dmkhbynn ydeynn wbhd'
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments.

ܗܢܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܚܘܒܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܢܛܪ ܦܘܩܕܢܘܗܝ ܘܦܘܩܕܢܘܗܝ ܠܐ ܝܩܝܪܝܢ
yqyryn l' wpwqdnwhy pwqdnwhy dnTr d'lh' khwbh gyr hw hn'
For this is loving God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.

ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠ ܕܝܠܝܕ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܙܟܐ ܠܗ ܠܥܠܡܐ ܘܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܙܟܘܬܐ ܕܙܟܬܗ ܠܥܠܡܐ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܢ
hymnwthn lelm' dzkthh zkwth' hy whd' lelm' lh zk' 'lh' mn dylyd dkl mTl
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.

ܡܢܘ ܓܝܪ ܕܙܟܐ ܠܗ ܠܥܠܡܐ ܐܠܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܒܪܗ ܗܘ ܕܐܠܗܐ
d'lh' hw brh dyshwe dmhymn hw 'l' lelm' lh dzk' gyr mnw
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

ܗܢܘ ܕܐܬܐ ܒܝܕ ܡܝܐ ܘܕܡܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܡܝܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܠܐ ܒܡܝܐ ܘܕܡܐ
wdm' bmy' 'l' blkhwd bmy' hw' l' mshykh' yshwe wdm' my' byd d'th' hnw
This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

ܘܪܘܚܐ ܡܣܗܕܐ ܕܗܝ ܪܘܚܐ ܐܝܬܝܗ ܫܪܪܐ
shrr' 'ythyh rwkh' dhy mshd' wrwkh'
For there are three who testify:

ܘܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܬܠܬܐ ܣܗܕܝܢ ܪܘܚܐ ܘܡܝܐ ܘܕܡܐ ܘܬܠܬܝܗܘܢ ܒܚܕ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn bkhd wthlthyhwn wdm' wmy' rwkh' shdyn thlth' w'ythyhwn
the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one.

ܐܢ ܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܕܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܡܩܒܠܝܢܢ ܚܕ ܟܡܐ ܣܗܕܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܪܒܐ ܗܝ ܘܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܣܗܕܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܣܗܕ ܥܠ ܒܪܗ
brh el d'shd d'lh' shdwthh hy whd' hy drb' d'lh' shdwthh km' khd mqblynn dbnynsh' shdwth' 'n
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is God’s testimony which he has testified concerning his Son.

ܟܠܡܢ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܒܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܗܕܐ ܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܒܢܦܫܗ ܟܠ ܕܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܥܒܕܗ ܒܕܠܐ ܗܝܡܢ ܠܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܕܐܣܗܕ ܐܠܗܐ ܥܠ ܒܪܗ
brh el 'lh' d'shd lshdwth' hymn bdl' ebdh dgl' l'lh' mhymn dl' kl bnpshh shdwth' hd' lh 'yth d'lh' bbrh dmhymn klmn
He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who doesn’t believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.

ܘܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܝܗܒ ܠܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܚܝܐ ܒܒܪܗ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ
'ythyhwn bbrh khy' whnwn 'lh' ln yhb dlelm dkhy' shdwth' hy whd'
The testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

ܟܠ ܕܐܚܝܕ ܠܒܪܐ ܐܚܝܕ ܐܦ ܠܚܝܐ ܘܟܠ ܕܠܐ ܐܚܝܕ ܠܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܝܬ ܠܗ ܚܝܐ
khy' lh lyth d'lh' lbrh 'khyd dl' wkl lkhy' 'p 'khyd lbr' d'khyd kl
He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life.

ܗܠܝܢ ܟܬܒܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܐܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܗܝܡܢܬܘܢ ܒܫܡܗ ܕܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ
d'lh' dbrh bshmh dhymnthwn l'ylyn lkwn 'yth dlelm dkhy' dthdewn lkwn kthbth hlyn
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

ܘܗܕܐ ܦܪܗܣܝܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܢ ܠܘܬܗ ܕܟܠ ܕܫܐܠܝܢܢ ܠܗ ܐܝܟ ܨܒܝܢܗ ܫܡܥ ܠܢ
ln shme tsbynh 'yk lh dsh'lynn dkl lwthh ln 'yth prhsy' whd'
This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.

ܘܐܢ ܡܦܣܝܢܢ ܕܫܡܥ ܠܢ ܥܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܫܐܠܝܢܢ ܡܢܗ ܬܟܝܠܝܢܢ ܕܩܒܠܢ ܡܢ ܟܕܘ ܫܐܠܬܢ ܕܫܐܠܢ ܡܢܗ
mnh dsh'ln sh'lthn kdw mn dqbln thkylynn mnh dsh'lynn mdm el ln dshme mpsynn w'n
And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.

ܐܢ ܐܢܫ ܢܚܙܐ ܠܐܚܘܗܝ ܕܚܛܐ ܚܛܗܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܚܝܒ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܢܫܐܠ ܘܡܬܝܗܒܝܢ ܠܗ ܚܝܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܡܘܬܐ ܚܛܝܢ ܐܝܬ ܓܝܪ ܚܛܗܐ ܕܡܘܬܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܕܢܒܥܐ ܐܢܫ
'nsh dnbe' 'n' 'mr hn' el hw' l' dmwth' khTh' gyr 'yth khTyn dlmwth' 'yk hw' dl' l'ylyn khy' lh wmthyhbyn nsh'l lmwth' mkhyb dl' khTh' dkhT' l'khwhy nkhz' 'nsh 'n
If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death. I don’t say that he should make a request concerning this.

ܟܠ ܥܘܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܗܘ ܘܐܝܬ ܚܛܗܐ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܡܘܬܐ ܗܘ
hw dmwth' hw' dl' khTh' w'yth hw khTyth' gyr ewl' kl
All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.

ܘܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܕܟܠ ܕܝܠܝܕ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܚܛܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܕܝܠܝܕ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܢܛܪ ܢܦܫܗ ܘܒܝܫܐ ܠܐ ܡܬܩܪܒ ܠܗ
lh mthqrb l' wbysh' npshh nTr 'lh' mn dylyd gyr hw khT' l' 'lh' mn dylyd dkl wydeynn
We know that whoever is born of God doesn’t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn’t touch him.

ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܕܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܢܢ ܘܥܠܡܐ ܟܠܗ ܒܒܝܫܐ ܗܘ ܣܝܡ
sym hw bbysh' klh welm' khnn 'lh' dmn ydeynn
We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

ܘܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܕܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܬܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܠܢ ܡܕܥܐ ܕܢܕܥ ܠܫܪܝܪܐ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܒܫܪܝܪܐ ܒܒܪܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܢܐ ܗܘ ܐܠܗܐ ܫܪܝܪܐ ܘܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ
dlelm wkhy' shryr' 'lh' hw hn' mshykh' yshwe bbrh bshryr' bh wnhw' lshryr' dnde mde' ln wyhb 'th' d'lh' dbrh wydeynn
We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

ܒܢܝ ܛܪܘ ܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܕܚܠܬ ܦܬܟܪܐ
pthkr' dkhlth mn npshkwn Trw bny
Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
